Piano Performance and Teaching
I started playing as a young kid, and have kept it up ever since.
From pictures I have seen of me as a toddler I have deduced that I must have felt an attraction to the piano very early on. When I was five my parents put me into lessons in Gelsenkirchen: I was thoroughly educated in classical repertoire, music theory, and piano technique. I also became gradually involved with church music and got experience in accompanying choirs and congregational singing. I’ve often accompanied other musicians for their recitals as well. Competitions (“Jugend musiziert”) and winning prizes was part of the journey.
Later in Abbotsford I taught piano for a number of years, played two-piano concerts with Mel Bowker, and performed with violinist Calvyn Dyck and other professionals in the area.

Celebrate Pianos Eight, Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Eight Steinway concert grands, 16 pianists, 32 hands. Mel Bowker and I were two of them.
